LPG Price
There has been some relief in LPG cylinder prices. This relief is for traders, as OMCs have reduced the price of 19 kg commercial cylinders by ₹10 from today, December 1st. Last month, the price of commercial cylinders used in hotels, restaurants, etc. was also reduced by ₹5. However, there has been no change in the price of domestic LPG cylinders.
17 Bank Holidays
This month, December will have a total of 17 holidays, including the second and fourth Saturdays, and the weekly holiday on Sunday. Note that according to the RBI’s bank holiday list, holidays vary by state, meaning banks in each state will not be closed for 17 days. Therefore, before leaving home for banking work, check if the bank in your city is open. The month begins with a holiday, but today will be a bank holiday only in Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. Banks across the country are closed on December 25th.
UPS: No Extension of Deadline
A vital change applies to government employees from December 1st. They will no longer have the option to choose between NPS and UPS, as the deadline has not been extended. The deadline for selecting the Unified Pension Scheme was extended from September 30th to November 30th, and this has not been extended.
Aadhaar Rules
A new Aadhaar-related rule has also been implemented from December 1st. Under this new rule, you will be able to enter information such as name, address, date of birth, and mobile number in your Aadhaar card online. Data verification can be done using a PAN card, passport, or other relevant government records.
EPFO
Effective December 1st, the EPFO has implemented several new changes. These include changes to the rules for UAN-KYC linking, e-nomination, and monthly pension updates.
