PM Awas Yojana: A relief news related to Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) has come out. Now more people will be able to take advantage of this scheme because the government has changed the eligibility conditions. Earlier, where it was necessary to fulfill 13 conditions to apply in this scheme, now this number has been reduced to 10. That is, now only 10 conditions have to be fulfilled instead of 13, this also includes the limit of monthly income.

Know what has changed?

Under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin, financial assistance is provided by the government for building a house. Earlier there were 13 parameters for determining eligibility, which have now been reduced to 10. Earlier the monthly income limit was Rs 10,000, which has now been increased to Rs 15,000. Earlier, the benefit of the scheme could not be availed if one had a two-wheeler or a fishing boat, but now such persons can also apply.

The assistance is Rs 1.30 lakh in hilly areas and Rs 1.20 lakh in general areas. For those who have not yet got the survey done, the last date has been fixed as May 15 (earlier it was April 30).

These 3 major conditions have been removed from the earlier 13 conditions

  1. If you have a scooter, bike or boat, you are now eligible too.
  2. Having a gas stove is no longer a reason for disqualification.
  3. Now not having electricity connection is also not a mandatory condition.
  4. Now these 10 conditions have to be fulfilled.
  5. female headed family.
  6. There is no adult (16-59 years) member in the household.
  7. No literate member should be more than 25 years of age.
  8. Having a disabled member or an adult in the family.
  9. Landless families who depend only on casual labour.
  10. Homeless families or families living in only one room.
  11. SC/ST or minority community families.
  12. no toilet.
  13. Lack of access to education or employment.
  14. Other socio-economic needs.
