Credit Card Rules– Big news for Credit Card users. Nowadays most people prefer to use credit cards. There are very few people who do not use credit cards. If you are also one of those people who use credit cards, then let us tell you that some changes are being made in the rules of their credit cards by two big private banks of the country. These new changes will come into effect from July 1, 2025. The names of these two banks are HDFC and ICICI Bank. Both these banks are changing the rules of their credit cards.
New rules for HDFC Bank credit card
HDFC Bank is one of the largest private banks in the country. According to the new credit card rules of this bank, if an HDFC Bank customer spends more than Rs 10,000 in a month on online gaming platforms like Dream11, Rummyculture, Junglee Games or MPL, then he will have to pay 1 percent charge on the total expenditure. This charge cannot be more than Rs 4,999. According to the new rules, no reward points will be given on gaming transactions now.
The same charge will also be applicable on depositing more than Rs 10,000 in a month from your HDFC credit card in third-party wallets like PayTM , Mobikwik, Freecharge or Ola Money. Apart from this, this 1 percent charge will also be applicable on utility payments, if your bill is more than Rs 50,000. Insurance payment is not included in this. Along with this, HDFC Bank has also changed the charge limit for rent, fuel and education transactions. The charge levied on these will also not exceed Rs 4,999 per transaction.
ICICI Bank credit card new rules
ICICI Bank is also one of the largest private banks in the country. As per the new rules of ICICI Bank’s credit card, now only those customers will get the facility of domestic airport lounge for free who have spent at least Rs 75,000 from their card in the last quarter. This facility will be available only for 3 months. Apart from this, the bank has also changed the rules of some of its other services.
ICICI Bank will now charge separately for cash deposits, cheque deposits and DD and PO transactions.
ICICI Bank customers will now have to pay Rs 2 for every Rs 1,000 but the minimum charge will be Rs 50 and the maximum charge will be Rs 15,000.
After 3 free ATM transactions, ICICI Bank has started charging Rs 23 for financial transactions and Rs 8.5 for non-financial transactions.
