Ladki Bahin Yojana: The Maharashtra government has provided significant relief to women beneficiaries of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana. Women who made mistakes in the e-KYC process will now have another chance to correct and complete the process by March 31st. This decision was taken after receiving numerous complaints. Maharashtra Women and Child Development Minister Aditi said the aim is to ensure that no eligible woman is left out of the scheme due to technical or procedural errors.
Which women get the benefit of the scheme?
This scheme was launched in June 2024. Under this scheme, eligible women receive Rs 1,500 per month directly into their bank accounts. Certain conditions apply to availing the scheme. The woman’s age must be between 21 and 65 years. The family’s annual income must be less than Rs 2.5 lakh. The woman must not be a beneficiary of any other state-run scheme. The bank account must be linked to Aadhaar. The Aadhaar information must be accurate. According to the government, e-KYC is required every year to prevent duplication and ensure that funds reach the right people.
Why was there a mistake in e-KYC?
Officials said that many women made incorrect choices during e-KYC. In some cases, Aadhaar details mismatched, in others, the ration card number was entered incorrectly, and in others, minor errors were made in income-related information. These minor reasons resulted in delays in payments.
How to improve e-KYC?
Women who haven’t received their payments yet can make corrections online from home. There’s no need to visit an office.
- Visit the website: ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in
- Click on e-KYC option on the homepage.
- Check name, address, Aadhar number, ration card and income information.
- Re-upload the information if needed.
- Submit the form
- The government has made it clear that there is no need to go to the office unless specifically called.
Why is the reform deadline important?
The government says that thousands of women were left out of the scheme due to technical errors. This additional time will give them a second chance. The minister urged women to complete e-KYC before March 31. This will prevent further payment delays and ensure regular access to scheme benefits.
