Aadhaar Card New Rule: If you are an Aadhaar cardholder, this news may be very important for you. The government is about to introduce a new Aadhaar card-related rule. Under this rule, hotels, event organisers, and similar venues will be required to completely stop accepting and storing physical copies of Aadhaar cards. A senior official told PTI that this change is being made because keeping a paper copy of the Aadhaar card proves to be dangerous.
The new rule has been approved by UIDAI and will be notified soon. Under the new rule, any organisation wishing to perform offline Aadhaar verification will now be required to register with UIDAI and perform the verification digitally.

According to UIDAI chief Bhuvnesh Kumar, all institutions will now be required to use only secure API-based QR code and app verification systems for Aadhaar verification. This means that there will no longer be a need to show a physical copy of Aadhaar to verify identity at hotels, event venues, or any other location. This new rule aims to reduce paper-based verification and eliminate the possibility of misuse of Aadhaar information.
UIDAI to Launch New App
UIDAI will soon launch a new app, which is currently in beta testing. This app will allow app-to-app verification, eliminating the need to connect to a central server. This will make Aadhaar verification easier at locations like airports, retail stores, and event venues without network issues. The app will also allow for address updates, and family members who do not have mobile phones can also be added.

What is the New System’s Speciality?
The new system’s biggest strength is that it will largely eliminate problems like server failure or technical glitches. Currently, verification is often interrupted due to interruptions in the intervening server lines, but this problem will be eliminated with QR codes and app-based offline verification. UIDAI says this model will further strengthen user privacy and eliminate the risk of leaks of paper copies of Aadhaar. The system is designed to comply with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, which is expected to be fully implemented in the next 18 months.
