Who will get the benefit under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana?
This scheme is for first-time mothers. Extra money is given if the second child is a girl. Women from SC, ST, disabled, and Ayushman Bharat groups can also apply. The woman must be at least 19 years old. She must apply within 270 days of childbirth. Any eligible woman in India can apply for this scheme.
How Much Help Do Women Get?
- Women get ₹11,000 under the PMMVY scheme. For the first child, they get ₹5,000 in three parts:
- ₹1,000 after registering the pregnancy.
- ₹2,000 after a health check-up in the sixth month.
- ₹2,000 after delivery and vaccination.
- If the second child is a girl, they get an extra ₹6,000.
How Is the Money Given?
- Women get ₹5,000 in three simple steps for the first child:
- ₹1,000 after three months of pregnancy.
- ₹2,000 after one antenatal check-up.
- ₹2,000 after birth registration and the first vaccination.
- This money helps mothers buy food and get medical care.
How to Apply?
- Women can apply online or offline.
- Online: Visit the official website, fill out the form, and submit it.
- Offline: Visit the nearest Anganwadi or health center and give the documents.
- After approval, the money goes directly to the bank account through DBT.
