MNSSBY: Big news for graduate students. Ahead of the assembly elections, the Bihar government has opened its coffers for women and youth. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has announced a monthly grant of Rs 1,000 to graduate students. Under the Chief Minister’s Self-Help Allowance Scheme, all graduate students will receive Rs 1,000. Speaking to the News18 Local team, Pankaj Kumar, manager of the DRCC in Purnia, provided several details about the scheme.
Pankaj Kumar stated that graduate students from all three faculties: Science, Arts, and Commerce, will benefit from the scheme. DRCC Manager Pankaj Kumar said that any graduate youth in Purnia district can easily benefit from this scheme for the next 24 months, provided they follow certain eligibility criteria. There is also an age limit, allowing youth between the ages of 20 and 25 to benefit.

Even if you are unemployed or seeking employment after graduating, you can still benefit from this scheme. If you are in Purnia and have completed your graduation, you must arrive at the District Registration and Counseling Center in Purnia with all the necessary documents. You must apply for this scheme at the DRCC office.

To become a beneficiary of this scheme, original matriculation certificate, original 12th certificate and mark sheet, college leaving certificate, Aadhar card, bank account and original certificates of all semesters of graduation will have to be shown. Along with this, photocopies of all certificates will also have to be submitted to Purnia DRCC office.
