New Delhi: Indian Railways frequently issues updates regarding train routes. Therefore, if you are planning to travel by train, you can check the route details released by the Railways. The routes of 16 trains operating in Bihar—including the Vande Bharat Express—have been modified. If you are planning a train journey, you can first familiarise yourself with essential details regarding the routes, thereby eliminating any confusion.

Due to Non-Interlocking (NI) work being conducted in the DDU and Lucknow divisions, 28 trains operating in Bihar—including those serving Patna—will be affected from May 4 to May 27. Additionally, work involving the removal of the CC apron on Line No. 1 will be undertaken at Gaya Station. Details regarding which trains have had their routes diverted can be found below.
Find Out Which Train Routes Have Been Diverted
If you are planning to travel by train, you can obtain information regarding the altered routes here to ensure there is absolutely no confusion. Saraswati Chandra, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway, informed that from May 4 to May 27, Train No. 22345 (Patna–Gomti Nagar Vande Bharat Express) will be operated via the Jafrabad–Sultanpur–Ayodhya Cantt route.
Due to this route diversion, the train will not have a scheduled halt at Ayodhya Dham Station. Furthermore, on May 14, 15, 17, 21, 22, and 24, Train No. 13238 (Kota–Patna Express) will be operated via the Lucknow–Sultanpur–Jafrabad Junction route. On May 9, 16, and 23, Train No. 19321 (Indore–Patna Express) is scheduled to run via the Lucknow–Sultanpur–Jafrabad route.
No Halts at These Stations During Route Diversion
During the period of route diversion, the aforementioned trains will not make scheduled halts at Ayodhya Cantt, Akbarpur, and Jaunpur stations. From May 4 to May 16, 2026, Train No. 13330 (Ganga Damodar Express) will travel to Dhanbad via Patna, Jatdumri, Islampur, and Tilaiya. Then, on its return journey, train 13329 will travel along this same route up to Patna.
