Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway: Travelers between Lucknow and Kanpur are quite familiar with the challenges they face. The distance separating these two significant cities in Uttar Pradesh is just right for daily commuters. However, this relatively short distance often takes longer to traverse than it would in their own workplaces. Traffic congestion and subpar road conditions have complicated their journeys, but now this distance can be covered in a mere 45 minutes. The expressway linking Lucknow and Kanpur is now finished, and the toll rates have been set.
The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has yet to officially announce the toll rates, but the tender process is nearing completion and the prices have been disclosed. Once the expressway opens, the toll rates will be made public. Based on these rates, it appears that while the expressway will facilitate quicker and easier travel between Kanpur and Lucknow, it will undoubtedly come at a higher cost. It is anticipated that the journey via this expressway will take only 40 to 45 minutes. The authority has not confirmed whether motorcycles will be permitted on the expressway.
What will the one-way toll be?
Recent information regarding the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway suggests that the one-way toll fee will be around Rs 275. Even if someone returns within 24 hours, the total toll will only amount to Rs 415. The expressway spans approximately 63 kilometers and cost Rs 4,700 crore to construct. Given the toll rate and distance, the toll per kilometer will be Rs 4.36. This expressway features six lanes and has over 100 cameras installed.
NHAI states that if you regularly travel between Lucknow and Kanpur or work in these cities, an annual pass can be particularly beneficial. You can obtain an annual pass for this expressway for just 3,075 rupees. This pass allows for 200 trips, costing only 15 rupees per trip. Currently, such passes are available at more than 1,150 toll plazas nationwide.
