The government is taking strict action to curb the black marketing and hoarding of LPG. On April 11, 2026, a nationwide campaign was launched, involving over 2,700 inspections and raids. These actions were taken to prevent misuse of domestic LPG, detect irregularities, and increase transparency in the distribution system.
State-owned oil marketing companies have stepped up surprise inspections of LPG distributors. Following rigorous scrutiny, 219 distributors have been fined so far, while the licenses of 56 distributors have been suspended for violating regulations.
