CUET UG 2026 – Exam Disrupted by TCS Server Glitch on May 30, NTA Issues Notice

: Recently, significant controversy has surrounded the NEET examination, which was subsequently cancelled. Meanwhile, major news is now emerging regarding the CUET UG 2026 examination. On May 30, 2026, scenes of severe disorganisation were witnessed at various CUET UG 2026 examination centres. At several centres across the country, the morning shift paper failed to commence at its scheduled time, leaving candidates and their parents visibly irate. The NTA has now issued an official notice clarifying the matter.

A short while ago, the National Testing Agency shared a post on the social media platform ‘X’, stating: “M/s TCS has informed us that, due to a technical glitch on their end, the commencement of CUET (UG) 2026 was delayed at certain centres on May 30, 2026. This issue has now been resolved, and the examination is proceeding with the full allotted time duration to ensure that no candidate suffers any disadvantage.”

Afternoon Session Timings (Revised):
• Reporting/Entry: From 2:30 PM onwards
• Exam Commencement: 4:00 PM (instead of 3:00 PM)

Candidates appearing for the morning session are given the full allotted time to complete their papers and are permitted to exit the examination hall only after finishing their exams.

The NTA deeply regrets the inconvenience caused to the students and their parents.

TCS Server Glitch
Today, May 30, immediately upon the commencement of the CUET examination, the TCS system ceased to function. The NTA confirmed that, owing to a technical glitch on TCS’s part, the examination could not begin on time at a few selected centres. Due to blank computer screens and server outages, students were left waiting at their seats. However, the NTA has now stated that the technical fault has been fully rectified and that the examination has resumed smoothly.

Helpline Number and Email Released
The NTA has released a helpline number and an official email ID to address any queries or provide assistance.

Helpline Number: +91-11-40759000
Official Email: cuet-ug@nta.ac.in

Morning Shift Candidates to Receive Full-Time
The NTA has clarified that no candidate will face any injustice. Any time lost by students due to technical glitches is fully compensated by providing “compensatory time.” Students will be allotted the full stipulated duration to attempt the question paper. Additionally, strict security protocols have been implemented. No candidate from the morning shift will be permitted to exit the examination hall before completing their paper.
