Life Certificate for Pensioners: There are millions of pensioners living in the country. Each year, they have to complete an important task to keep their pensions coming regularly. At the end of the year, they need to submit a life certificate. A specific date is set for this every year. For this year, the deadline to submit the life certificate was November 30, 2025.
However, many pensioners couldn’t manage to do this for various reasons. Consequently, their pensions were temporarily halted starting December 1st. Now, they are curious about what steps they need to take to reinstate their pensions. Let’s break it down for you.
Life certificate submission is mandatory
Every year, all pensioners across the country must submit their life certificates. The process is pretty straightforward, but still, a lot of pensioners overlook this task and miss the deadline. This year, the cutoff was November 30th.
If you’re one of those pensioners who didn’t submit their life certificate and have had your pension paused because of it, don’t stress. According to the guidelines, once you submit your life certificate again, your temporarily halted pension will start up again.
How to submit your life certificate?
Submitting a life certificate is now super easy. You have the option to do it online or offline. If you want to go the offline route, you’ll need to head to the bank with your Aadhaar card, pension ID, bank passbook, and a photo. The bank staff will then process your life certificate after checking everything.
On the other hand, if you prefer online methods, you can submit your certificate digitally. To do this, you’ll need to use the Jeevan Pramaan app or the Jeevan Pramaan portal. Just enter your Aadhaar number and complete the biometric verification. After that, your life certificate will be submitted.
However, if someone is over 80 years old or has a disability, banks and post offices offer the ability to submit a life certificate from home. Bank and post office employees visit the home to collect the life certificate.
