Ladki Bahin Yojana: The Chief Minister Majhi Ladki Bahin Yojana from the Maharashtra government has turned into a financial lifeline for countless women across the state. This initiative offers monthly financial aid to assist women with their household and personal expenses. However, a significant issue has come up recently. A lot of women have not managed to finish their e-KYC, which puts their payments at risk of being halted.
The government has made it clear that women who haven’t completed their e-KYC won’t receive any funds from the scheme. Additionally, due to heavy rains, natural disasters, connectivity issues, and technical glitches in the state, many women couldn’t finalize their e-KYC in time. The initial deadline was November 18, 2025, but considering the challenges faced by millions, the government has pushed this date to December 31, 2025. While this extension has provided some relief, a crucial question lingers: Is your name among those women with pending e-KYC?
Why is e-KYC mandatory according to the government?
The government aims to ensure that the scheme’s funds are directed to the right and eligible women. Recently, there have been multiple complaints, including instances of two applications being submitted under the same name, incorrect details in bank accounts, and fraudulent entries in certain areas. Hence, verifying identity through Aadhaar has become a requirement. The government has explicitly stated that without e-KYC, no funds will be transferred to any woman’s account.
Is your e-KYC done or not? Here’s how to check
You can quickly check from your mobile whether your e-KYC is completed or not. First, visit the portal ladakibahin.maharashtra.gov.in. Then click on e-KYC, enter your Aadhaar number, and fill in the captcha. After that, click on Send OTP. The system will inform you if your e-KYC is already completed, which means everything is good, or if your Aadhaar number is not on the eligible list, indicating your name isn’t listed yet, or if it says Complete your e-KYC, meaning your process is still pending. The scheme’s rules are clear.
