Are you a beneficiary of the Maharashtra government’s Chief Minister’s Ladki Bahin Yojana and worried about errors in e-KYC? This scheme has become a major financial support for millions of women. However, to ensure that many eligible women are not deprived of the scheme’s benefits due to minor or major errors during e-KYC, the government has taken a major decision. These women will be given one last chance to correct their e-KYC, with the deadline set for December 31, 2025.
Last Chance to Correct e-KYC
Aditi Tatkare, the state’s Minister of Women and Child Development and MLA from Shrivardhan, shared this information in a post on the social media platform ‘X’. She explained that the scheme aims to empower women, so no eligible woman should be excluded due to technical or documentation errors.

In fact, most of the Ladki Bahin Yojana beneficiaries come from remote and rural areas, where errors during the e-KYC process are natural. The department received a large number of applications and complaints requesting an opportunity to correct their e-KYC. In response to these demands, the government decided to provide this final opportunity.
The government also clarified that special features have been provided on the portal for Ladki Bahin women whose husbands or fathers are no longer alive, so they can complete the e-KYC process without any hassle.

2.43 Crore Beneficiaries and Transparent Implementation
Earlier, in response to questions related to the scheme in the Assembly, Minister Aditi Tatkare stated that the department is continuously ensuring that the scheme is implemented transparently and that benefits reach only genuinely eligible women.
According to government data, approximately 2.63 crore applications were received for the Ladki Bahin Scheme, of which approximately 2.43 crore were found to be valid after scrutiny. Additionally, approximately 2.6 million applications were separately scrutinized by the IT department, which also confirmed that most of the applications were eligible.
8,000 Women Left Out of Benefits
Eligible beneficiaries were identified by collecting data from various departments, including the Namo Shetkari Yojana, the School Education Department, and the Food and Civil Supplies Department. According to the rules, women eligible for various schemes will continue to receive benefits. However, an investigation found approximately 8,000 beneficiaries in government jobs were ineligible, and the process of recovering the amount has been initiated. Instructions have also been sent to all district collectors in this regard.
12,000 to 14,000 Girls Don’t Have Their Own Accounts

The Minister also reported that in 12,000 to 14,000 cases, the women did not have their own bank accounts, so the payments were linked to the accounts of their fathers, brothers, or husbands. The department is continuing independent cross-verification to ensure that no eligible women are excluded from the scheme.
The government has decided to make the e-KYC process mandatory for all beneficiaries of the scheme based on 13 key parameters. According to Minister Aditi Tatkare, once e-KYC is completed, the distribution of scheme benefits will become more seamless, transparent, and systematic, ensuring that the benefits of the Mukhyamantri Majhi Ladki Behen Yojana reach women in genuine need.
