Holi Special Trains: With the Holi festival nearing, train congestion is on the rise. Securing tickets is becoming more challenging, particularly for routes to Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Delhi, Gujarat, and Odisha. To address this, Indian Railways has announced the operation of nine pairs of Holi special trains, which amounts to a total of 18.

These trains will operate on various dates from February 22 to March 30, 2026. According to the Railways, the aim of these trains is to accommodate the increased demand during the festival and to guarantee that passengers can secure confirmed tickets.

Puri-Patna Special (08439/08440)

This train will leave from Puri, passing through Kharagpur, Asansol, Jhajha, and Kiul, before arriving in Patna. It will depart from Puri every Saturday from February 28 to March 28. For the return trip, it will leave Patna every Sunday from March 1 to 29.

Udhna–Hasanpur Road Special (09031/09032)

This train will travel from Udhna to Hasanpur Road, stopping at DDU, Patliputra, Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, and Samastipur along the way. It will operate every Sunday from February 22 to March 29, with return services available on Mondays.

Charlapalli–Raxaul Special (07005/07006)

This train will head to Raxaul via Ranchi, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Barauni, and Darbhanga. It will run on select dates throughout February and March.

Gandhidham–Bhagalpur Special (09451/09452)

This train will link Gujarat with Bihar. It will operate every Friday from March 6 to 27 and will also run on Mondays for the return journey.

Dankuni–Anand Vihar and Malda–Anand Vihar Special

Special provisions have been made for travelers heading to Delhi from West Bengal. These trains will operate on various dates during the first and second weeks of March.

Additionally, special trains will also be available between Sealdah-Gorakhpur and Asansol-Gorakhpur. The Railways recommends that passengers book their tickets in advance, as seats tend to fill up quickly during Holi. Tickets can be purchased through the IRCTC website or at railway counters.
