Govt Supply to Farmers for Kharif

Along with the central government, the state governments are also working to give urea to farmers in the Kharif sowing season. The state government is trying to provide enough fertilizer on time for the 2025 Kharif season. The Agriculture Minister of the state said that with the help of the central government, the supply of urea, DAP and NPK fertilizers is going on. This will help farmers in sowing, transplanting and top dressing of crops without any problem.

UP Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that from August 1 to August 26, 2025, the Government of India has sent 301 urea racks to Uttar Pradesh. Out of these, 267 racks have reached farmers, and 34 racks are on the way. These will reach the districts in the next 2–3 days. The Minister also said that right now, urea is being supplied at 10 to 12 racks per day to meet the daily need of farmers.

Urea Racks Sent to Districts

On 27 and 28 August, the Central Government sent 18 new racks of urea to many districts of Uttar Pradesh. The main districts are Basti, Aligarh, Mau, Ayodhya, Jhansi, Jalaun, Sultanpur, Shahjahanpur, Kanpur, Barabanki, Bareilly, Moradabad, Hardoi, Gorakhpur, Muzaffarnagar, Saharanpur, and Badaun. Under Urea Distribution 2025, supply is reaching these districts on time.

Fertiliser Stock and Quality

By 27 August 2025, Uttar Pradesh had enough fertilizer. Urea stock is 5,64,865 metric tonnes, DAP is 4,07,792 metric tonnes, and NPK is 3,03,446 metric tonnes. Farmers can take fertilizer from local centers as per their need.

The Agriculture Minister said all fertilizer brands are of the same quality. Farmers should not depend on only one brand and should not store more than needed. This way, every farmer can get fertilizer on time.

Action Against Black Marketing

The government is keeping strict watch on black marketing and high pricing. In 2025-26, 12,653 raids were done. Out of 3,385 fertilizer samples tested, 35 were found bad. The government suspended 571 licenses, cancelled 1,196, warned 122 shopkeepers, banned 15 shops, sealed 12 shops, filed 111 FIRs, and sent 11 people to jail. Farmers should buy fertilizer only at the MRP price.

For any complaint about black marketing, farmers can call the toll-free number 1800-180-1551.

Case of Black Marketing in Chhattisgarh

In Balrampur district of Chhattisgarh, a shopkeeper was caught selling urea at ₹950 instead of ₹266. Action was taken against him, and officials told all sellers to display the price list outside shops. Farmers are asked to report if anyone sells fertilizer above the fixed price.
