What is the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme?
This scheme is run by the West Bengal government and aims to promote women’s empowerment. It was launched in 2021 by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. Under this scheme, the benefit amount is directly transferred to the bank account of the female head of every family. Eligible women receive up to ₹1,200 per month from the government under this scheme.
Eligibility for the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme
This scheme is only for women who are residents of West Bengal. Women belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes receive ₹1,200 per month, while women from the general category receive ₹1,000. To be eligible, women must be between 25 and 60 years of age. Additionally, women must be registered under the Swasthya Sathi scheme to avail of the benefits of this scheme.

Application Process for the Lakshmi Bhandar Scheme
To apply, eligible women should first visit the official website www.socialsecurity.wb.gov.in/login. Complete the registration process there and log in with your registered mobile number. After logging in, fill in all the required information and upload the necessary documents. After filling in all the information correctly, submit the form.
