SBI: There is a good news for some SBI customers. You will once again get an opportunity to invest in the special fixed deposit scheme of State Bank of India (SBI) – SBI Amrit Vrishti. The bank has once again introduced this scheme which was closed on March 31, 2025, in which the bank’s customers can invest again. Let’s know everything about this FD scheme.

Amrit Varshi Scheme

SBI’s Amrit Vrishti scheme is a special term FD scheme in which you can invest for 444 days. This scheme, which was closed on 31 March 2025, has been activated once again. This time SBI has made a big cut of 20 basis points in the interest rates offered under Amrit Vrishti scheme. The new interest rates are applicable from April 15, 2025.

According to the official website of SBI, in this special FD scheme of 444 days, people will get interest at the rate of 7.05 percent. Earlier it was 7.25 percent. Senior citizens get special benefits in Amrit Vrishti FD scheme. Senior citizens get 7.55 percent interest in this FD scheme and super senior citizens get 7.65 percent interest.

SBI provides FD facility to its customers for a period of 7 days to 10 years, in which they get interest ranging from 3.50 percent to 7.50 percent. In case of retail fixed deposits up to Rs 5 lakh, a penalty of 0.50% will be applicable on premature withdrawal (across all tenures). In case of FDs above Rs 5 lakh but less than Rs 3 crore, a penalty of 1% will have to be paid on premature withdrawal. At the same time, the bank will not pay any interest on deposits of less than 7 days.
