Gold Price Today: Ahead of Akshay Tritiya, gold and silver prices have been witnessing continuous fluctuations. Gold purchases surge significantly on Akshay Tritiya; this is the primary reason why the demand for gold rises substantially during this period. In recent days, gold prices have remained volatile. On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the futures price for 24-carat gold rose by ₹1,688 by the end of the day, reaching ₹1,54,840 per 10 grams, whereas it had closed at ₹1,53,152 per 10 grams on the previous trading day.

Meanwhile, according to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold was recorded at ₹1,51,358 per 10 grams as of Friday morning. By the time the market closed in the evening, the price had risen to ₹1,51,655 per 10 grams. In international markets, spot gold edged slightly lower to stand at $4,786.90 per ounce.   • Chennai: Highest at ~₹1,55,020 (24K)
  • International spot gold: Slightly lower at $4,786.90 per ounce.
  • No IBJA updates on Sat/Sun → above rates valid for April 18–19.

The Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA) does not release gold rates on Saturdays and Sundays; therefore, the aforementioned rate will remain applicable for both days.
