The central government has launched the PAN 2.0 project, allowing you to exchange your old PAN card and get a new QR-coded version.

Where and How to Apply?

The central government has launched two portals for applying for a new PAN card:

  1. Protean (NSDL) – (formerly known as NSDL e-Governance)
  2. UTI Infrastructure Technology and Services Limited (UTIITSL)

Check the back of your old PAN card to see which organization issued it. Then, apply on the respective portal accordingly.

How to Apply Through NSDL?

To apply for a new PAN card from NSDL, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the website https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/ReprintEPan.html.
  2. Enter your required details, such as PAN number, Aadhaar number, date of birth, etc. Tick the necessary boxes and click on the ‘Submit’ option.
  3. Verify your updated information on the next page.
  4. You will receive an OTP on your mobile. You can choose to receive it via mobile or email.
  5. Pay a fee of Rs. 50.
  6. Click on ‘Submit. ’

After payment, you will receive an Acknowledgment Receipt. You can download your e-PAN from the NSDL website within 24 hours. The physical PAN card will be sent to your address within 15 to 20 days.

How to Apply Through UTIITSL?

If your PAN card was issued through UTIITSL, follow these steps:

  • Go to the official website: https://www.pan.utiitsl.com/reprint.html.
  • Click on the ‘Reprint PAN Card’ option.
  • Enter your PAN number, date of birth, and the captcha code.
  • Complete OTP verification and pay a fee of Rs. 50.
  • After 24 hours, you can download your e-PAN, and the physical PAN card will be delivered to your address within 15 to 20 days.
