Fog Impact: For the last few days, northern India has been shrouded in a thick layer of fog each morning, and this pattern continued on Sunday. The fog has made it tough to see, complicating travel by road, air, and rail. Reports indicate that 97 flights have been cancelled at Delhi Airport so far, with 48 flights arriving and 49 flights departing. Additionally, over 200 flights have experienced delays. On the railway side, more than 50 trains run by Northern Railway are running behind schedule due to the poor weather and fog.
Airports Authority issued advisory
On Sunday, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) released an advisory, cautioning that foggy conditions in parts of northern India are impacting visibility, which may lead to delays or diversions in flight operations at certain airports. The AAI advisory stated, “Fog conditions in parts of northern India are affecting visibility, and flight operations at select airports may be delayed or changed. Passengers are encouraged to check flight updates from their airlines through official channels and to allow extra time for travel and airport procedures.”
What did Delhi Airport say?
