FASTag- Big news for FASTag users. The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways ( MoRTH ) is going to launch FASTag Annual Pass from August 15, 2025. By paying just Rs 3,000, you will be able to travel toll-free on national highways and expressways for a whole year or up to 200 trips. This new pass will not only save time but you will also not have the hassle of recharging FASTag again and again .
The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is going to launch a new FASTag Annual Pass for regular travellers from August 15, 2025. The pass will cost Rs 3,000 and will allow you to either travel 200 times toll-free or it will be valid for one year – whichever is earlier. FASTag annual pass, payment has to be made only once
After activating this pass on FASTag , you can travel on designated National Highway ( NH) and National Expressway ( NE) toll plazas 200 times or for one year (whichever is earlier) without any extra toll tax. This facility will be available only to those who activate their pass by visiting the Highway Yatra mobile app or the NHAI website. If you travel on the highway regularly, then this pass can be very beneficial for you.
To activate the FASTag Annual Pass, the eligibility of the vehicle and the FASTag associated with it will first be checked. Once this check is completed, users will have to pay ₹3,000 for the year 2025-26 by visiting the Highway Yatra mobile app or the NHAI website . Once the payment is successful, your annual pass will be activated on your registered FASTag within about 2 hours. After this, you will be able to travel at the toll plaza without making repeated payments.
Where will FASTag pass be legal?
FASTag pass will be valid only at toll plazas on National Highway ( NH) and National Expressway ( NE) . However, if you pass through places like State Highway ( SH), Expressway or parking, where toll collection is done by the state government, local body or any private entity , then FASTag will work as normal and you will have to pay toll tax. That is, this pass provides free travel only at toll plazas run by the central government.
For how long will the pass remain active
The FASTag Annual Pass remains active for one year from the date of its activation or for 200 toll journeys (whichever is earlier). Once this limit is reached — either one year or 200 journeys — the pass will automatically convert into a normal FASTag . If you wish to continue using the Annual Pass, you will have to reactivate it so that you can travel toll – free again with the new validity .
