Honda Shine: Honda has officially unveiled its new Shine 100 DX motorcycle priced from ₹74,959 (ex-showroom). Targeting affordable daily commuters, the bike combines good looks and practical features without exceeding the ₹75,000 price point. It was previously unveiled alongside the CB125 Hornet, and now it’s finally here with complete details out from the company.

Features for Everyday Use

The Shine 100 DX uses the same sturdy 98.98cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine as the base model. It puts out 7.3 hp of power and 8.04 Nm of torque, paired to a 4-speed transmission. Mechanically, nothing has been altered, though. Honda has made some upgrades to enhance daily usability. They include new 17-inch tubeless tyres and preload-adjustable rear shock absorbers to provide a smoother ride.

New Digital Display and Safety Touches

One of the highlight updates is the inclusion of an additional LCD digital display. It indicates real-time mileage and distance-to-empty information, providing riders with improved fuel management. The Shine 100 DX also features a side-stand engine cut-off system, which provides added safety for new and professional riders. These updates make it a wiser choice in the entry-level commuter bike category.

Cosmetic Tweaks

Honda has introduced some visible visual updates to distinguish the DX from its normal version. They are chrome accents on the headlamp and muffler, blackened-out engine and grab rail, and new graphics. The Shine 100 DX is now in four color variants, black, red, blue, and grey. It also has a bigger 10-litre fuel tank, one litre bigger than the older model.

Competitors in the Segment

In its price and specifications, Shine 100 DX competes head-to-head with variants such as Hero HF Deluxe, Splendor Plus, and Bajaj Platina 110. Of them, Shine 100 DX provides a decent combination of looks, safety, and everyday usability, all within ₹75,000.
