Solar Pump Subsidy: The central government is implementing several government schemes to empower farmers financially. This year, the UP government is taking significant steps to provide farmers with modern and affordable irrigation systems. The Yogi government is installing 40,521 solar pumps across the state, with farmers receiving up to a 60% subsidy. This scheme will play a crucial role in increasing farmer productivity, streamlining irrigation, and reducing agricultural costs.

The scheme aims to provide rural farmers with relief from energy shortages and reduce their dependence on traditional irrigation methods. The use of solar pumps will not only eliminate diesel and electricity costs but also improve crop yields due to timely irrigation.

Benefits will be based on a first-come, first-served basis. The Agriculture Department has clarified that solar pump allocation will be based on a first-come, first-served basis. Farmers who apply first and complete the necessary procedures will be given priority. This will ensure a transparent and speedy selection process.

Districts Receive Targets

All districts in the state have been assigned the target of distributing solar pumps, ensuring that farmers in each district receive equal subsidy benefits. This will ensure the benefits of the scheme reach the entire state, rather than being limited to a single region.

Token Amount Only ₹5,000

Farmers applying for the scheme must pay a token fee of ₹5,000 at the time of registration. This fee is only charged to ensure that applicants are genuinely interested in purchasing solar pumps. This will also reduce unnecessary applications and ensure a smooth process.

This Scheme is Useful for Farmers

Installing solar pumps eliminates the need for electricity or diesel, making irrigation virtually free. The 60 per cent subsidy significantly reduces the financial burden on farmers and increases savings. Timely irrigation improves crop quality and production. Furthermore, increased use of renewable energy also protects the environment in rural areas.

Solar Pump Selection Options

The scheme will allow farmers to choose solar pumps of varying capacities based on their crop and land size. This allows each farmer to choose the best option for their needs.
