BIS Care app is your safety shield
If you ‘re worried about the purity of gold you’re buying, worry no more. The BIS Care app, developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), is an easy solution. It’s available for free download from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
This app was launched by BIS in 2020 to allow people to verify the authenticity of their jewelry from the comfort of their homes. Using this app, you can use the Hallmark Unique ID (HUID) number on any gold jewelry to determine whether it is genuine or fake.
Here’s how to check the purity of your jewellery on the BIS Care app:
– First of all download BIS Care app and log in by entering your name, mobile number and email ID.
– Now go to “Verify HUID” option and enter the HUID number printed on the jewellery.
– After this, you will get complete information on the screen, such as name of the jeweler, address of the hallmarking center, AHC registration number, purity and date of hallmarking.
– By carefully matching these details, you can easily identify whether the gold is real or fake.
Complain about fake jewellery here
If you get fake gold or false hallmark from any shop or any person , then complaint can also be made through the same app.
- You can register a complaint regarding fake product, poor quality or wrong marking by going to the “Register Complaint” section in the BIS Care app.
- The app also has the option to upload photos or other evidence along with the complaint.
- Once your complaint is registered, a reference number and updates are sent via SMS or email.
