In this situation, you can obtain a duplicate driving license both online and offline by following some simple steps.

File an FIR

As soon as you realize you have lost your driver’s license, you should report this to your local police station by filing an FIR; this is very important. In addition, if you have an old driver’s license with water damage or oil stains, then you must submit your original driver’s license in order to request a duplicate of it. To do so, after submitting your original driver’s license, you will then be able to apply for a duplicate driver’s license through the online application service of your State Transport Department.

Follow these simple steps:

  1. First, open the transport department’s website.
  2. Enter your details.
  3. Then fill out the LLD form.
  4. Now take a printout of it.
  5. Attach all your necessary documents with it.
  6. Now submit the form and all the documents to the RTO office.
  7. It can also be submitted online.
  8. The duplicate driving license will arrive 30 days after the online process is completed.

  • For this, first go to the RTO office from where your original driving license was issued.
  • Pay the prescribed fee along with the form.

Keep the receipt safe

You will receive a receipt after the online process for obtaining a duplicate driving license. Keep it carefully. You will need it when the duplicate DL arrives. Or, if the duplicate DL is delayed, you can verify information about your DL using that receipt.
