The Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) is set to restart bus services between Delhi and Leh on May 26th. This service had been halted due to heavy snowfall and road blockages. The return of these bus services is anticipated to provide considerable relief to travelers. In this regard, let’s take a look at the bus schedules, fares, and routes.
What will be the bus route?
As per HRTC, the distance from Delhi to Leh is roughly 990 kilometers. The bus will pass through important stops such as Jispa, Darcha, Jingjing Bar, Baralacha La, Bharatpur, Sarchu, Gata Loops, Naki-La Pass, Tanglang-La, Rumtse, and Upshi.
How much is the bus fare?
Media reports indicate that the Himachal Road Transport Corporation has established the bus fare at Rs 1,839. You can book your bus tickets online via the Himachal Transport Corporation website. In a simple function organised at HRTC Keylong Depot, Regional Manager Anshit Sharma honoured the drivers, conductors and passengers by presenting them Khatak and wished everyone a pleasant and safe journey.
What will be the bus timing?
According to the timetable, the bus is scheduled to leave Delhi at 12:10 PM. It will then arrive at Ambala Cantt at 3:50 PM, Chandigarh at 6:20 PM, Mandi at 10:55 PM, Kullu at 1:30 AM, and Manali at 2:30 AM. The bus is expected to reach Keylong at 5:30 AM the following morning and then arrive in Leh at 7 PM the next day. For the return trip, the bus will leave Leh at 3:30 AM and get to Keylong by 4:30 PM.
A tourist from Delhi, said he was traveling from Delhi and only wanted to come to Keylong, but when he learned that the bus had started, he was now going to Leh. Devraj, a tourist from Chandigarh, said that people should definitely take this bus ride at least once. He was traveling to Leh for the first time. Another tourist said that this was his first trip and that he was very excited. He had come from Delhi with friends and was going to Leh.
The Delhi-Keylong-Leh bus service was suspended during the winter due to heavy snowfall and adverse weather conditions. Now, with the Manali-Leh route restored and all formalities completed, the Himachal Road Transport Corporation has resumed this much-awaited service.
