DA can be increased by 3%. If there is a 3% increase in DA, then it will increase from the current 55% to 58%. Let us tell you that in January 2025, the government increased DA by only 2%, due to which it increased from 53% to 55%. If there is a 4% increase in DA, then it will increase from 55% to 59%.
How much will the salary increase due to DA hike

To understand by example, if the basic salary is Rs 40000 and DA increases by 3%, then there can be an increase of Rs 1,200 in the salary every month. With the increase in DA, there will also be an increase in travel allowance and house rent allowance.
When will the dearness allowance increase
The increase in dearness allowance for July-December 2025 can be announced before Diwali. Under the Seventh Pay Commission, dearness allowance is increased every six months for central government employees, which is calculated according to a fixed formula and the current inflation rate. Dearness allowance is increased twice a year, every six months. It is calculated based on a 12-month inflation rate and a fixed formula. In fact, in January 2025, the government had increased the dearness allowance by only 2 per cent, increasing it from 53 per cent to 55 per cent.
When will the Eighth Pay Commission be implemented?
The Eighth Pay Commission is going to be constituted very soon. It has been proposed to implement it by January 2026. Discussions are ongoing with the state governments, the Ministry of Finance, and the relevant departments regarding the Eighth Pay Commission. Under this commission, the salaries, pensions and allowances of central government employees and pensioners may increase. The basic salary of the employees will increase significantly.
