DA Hike Update- Big news for state government employees. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav fulfilled another pending demand of about seven lakh regular officers and employees of Madhya Pradesh. In the conference of the Gazetted Officers Association, he announced to increase the dearness allowance by five percent to 55 percent, similar to that of central employees.
In this, the allowance has been increased by three percent from July 1, 2024 and two percent from January 1, 2025. The arrears will be paid in five equal installments between June and October 2025. Naiduniya had reported on April 26 that the dearness allowance would be increased by five percent.
Dearness allowance increased twice
The employees of the state are still getting dearness allowance at the rate of 50 percent. This was also announced in October 2024 and the arrears of nine months were given in three installments. Whereas, in the meantime, the central government increased the dearness allowance twice. Central employees got the benefit of this from July 2024 and January 2025.
Orders have been issued on April 17 to increase the dearness allowance of All India Service officers by two percent to 55 percent. The demand to bridge the gap in dearness allowance between the central and state government employees was being made for a long time. In the budget, provision has been made in the establishment expenditure of departments according to 64 percent dearness allowance.
Finance department officials say that consent will be sought from the Chhattisgarh government to increase the dearness relief (DR) of pensioners by five percent. A letter will be sent to them for this and orders will be issued as soon as the consent is received. In fact, Section 49 of the State Reorganization Act provides for the consent of both the states in the financial matter of the pensioner.
