Effective today, Indraprastha Gas Limited has increased CNG prices in some cities. According to a notification issued late last night by the company, the new rates became effective at 6 a.m. on Sunday. This change directly impacts consumers who regularly use CNG vehicles.
This increase in CNG prices comes as fuel costs remain stable in many parts of the country. However, the company has revised these prices due to increased transportation and supply costs.

How much has CNG changed?
In Kanpur, CNG prices were previously priced at ₹87.92 per kg, which has now increased to ₹88.92 per kg. This is a direct increase of ₹1, which could increase monthly expenses for local consumers. Rates in Noida and Greater Noida have also increased from ₹84.70 per kg to ₹85.70 per kg. In Ghaziabad, the same new prices have been implemented in all areas except Hapur.
Petrol and Diesel Prices Stable
Petrol and diesel rates have remained unchanged amid rising CNG prices. In April, the government increased excise duty on petrol and diesel by ₹2 per liter, but this additional tax was not passed on to consumers. Oil marketing companies bore the burden, resulting in unchanged retail prices.
Impact of Rising CNG Prices
The ongoing increase in CNG prices will directly impact the pockets of ordinary consumers, especially those whose daily commute depends on CNG vehicles. The transport sector and private taxi services are also likely to be affected. If further price changes occur in the coming days, this could impact fare structures.
