25 dairy cattle units will be established

The Madhya Pradesh government has launched the Dr. Ambedkar Kamdhenu Yojana. Under this scheme, 25 dairy cattle units will be established.

The maximum cost of a unit will be ₹ 42 lakh.

Up to 33% subsidy will also be given on this.

To avail the scheme, the applicant must be a resident of Madhya Pradesh, and it will be necessary to get training in dairy farming.

How to apply and who will get the loan

To avail of the scheme, applicants have to apply online. You can apply by visiting the portal https://dbaky.mp.gov.in/.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scheme

Selection in this scheme will be based on ‘First Come, First Served’. So, do not delay.

The applicant should be a native of Madhya Pradesh and should be at least 21 years of age.

The applicant must have a certificate of training in dairy farming from the government or a recognized institution.

The applicant must have at least 3.5 acres of agricultural land. This is necessary to set up a dairy unit.

Priority

The cattle farmers who are already supplying milk will be given priority in this scheme.

Priority will also be given to those beneficiaries whose dairy unit is connected or is likely to be connected to the Milk Route.

The beneficiaries taking a loan under this scheme will have to run the dairy unit for at least 7 years or until the loan is fully repaid.

There will be a gap of 2 years between the two loans.

The government wants farmers to create a permanent source of income through this scheme and strengthen the rural economy.

Loan distribution and subsidy details

Under this scheme, the loan will be distributed in four phases.

Capital Subsidy

SC/ST category

For the beneficiaries of the Scheduled Caste (SC) / Scheduled Tribe (ST) category, 33% of the project cost will be given as capital subsidy and interest subsidy.

Other Categories

For beneficiaries of all other categories, the subsidy will be 25% of the project cost.

Nature of Subsidy

The subsidy will be given in a lump sum, with a lock-in period of 3 years from the date of first disbursement. During this period, the beneficiary will not have to pay any interest.

Flexibility of Loan Repayment

The beneficiary can repay their loan anytime before the stipulated loan period.
