SBI ATM Charges: If you are an SBI customer, this news might be important for you. State Bank of India (SBI) has implemented changes to its ATM transaction charges. This will directly affect customers who use their SBI debit cards at other banks’ ATMs, especially after they exceed their monthly free transaction limit.
Which accounts will the new charges apply to?

The new rules apply to SBI savings accounts, salary accounts, and current accounts. However, Kisan Credit Card (KCC) and Basic Savings Bank Deposit (BSBD) accounts are exempt from these increased charges. This means that no new fees will be levied on ATM transactions for these accounts.

What has changed for savings account holders?
SBI savings account holders will continue to receive 5 free transactions per month at other banks’ ATMs, as before. After this limit is reached, a charge of โน23 plus GST will be levied for cash withdrawals. For non-financial transactions such as balance checks or mini statements, a charge of โน11 plus GST will apply.

Salary account holders will be affected
This change by SBI has directly impacted SBI salary account holders. Previously, they had unlimited free transactions at other banks’ ATMs. This facility has now been discontinued. Under the new rules, salary account holders will only get 10 free transactions per month. After that, a charge of โน23 plus GST will be levied for cash withdrawals and โน11 plus GST for non-financial transactions.

Current account rules remain unchanged

SBI current account holders did not have the facility of free ATM transactions before, and this remains unchanged. A charge of โน23 plus GST will be levied for each cash withdrawal and โน11 plus GST for non-financial transactions at other banks’ ATMs.
New rules effective from December 1, 2025

Following these changes, effective from December 1, 2025, SBI customers will need to be more careful when using ATMs of other banks.
