The Indian cricket team may be playing without a title sponsor right now, but the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is not bothered much by this. One of the richest cricket boards in the world, the BCCI has so much money that it can run the team for many years even without any sponsors. According to a recent report, BCCI has earned a whopping ₹14,627 crore in the last five years alone, which is proof of its financial strength.

Complete account of BCCI’s earnings

This has been revealed in a report by cricket website Cricbuzz. According to the report, BCCI has earned ₹4,193 crore in the financial year 2023-24 alone, and it has a total cash balance of ₹20,686 crore. This information came to light when BCCI paid its dues to its state associations. This report revealed that the BCCI’s general fund was ₹3,906 crore in 2019, which has now increased to ₹7,988 crore, i.e., almost double.

According to the statement of accounts given in the 2024 Annual General Meeting (AGM), BCCI’s cash and bank balance has increased by ₹14,627 crore. This figure is before paying the dues of the state associations.

Sponsorship

Even though there is no title sponsor right now, the board also gets huge profits from other sponsorships.

IPL

BCCI will also pay income tax of crores

Along with its tremendous earnings, BCCI also pays huge income tax to the government. For 2023-24, BCCI will pay income tax of around ₹3,150 crores, which is a huge figure in itself.
