BCCI new order, now all players have to do this

A 5-match T20 series is being played between India and South Africa. Before this, Team India has also played a series of 2 Tests and 3 ODIs with the South African team. Now, in the midst of the T20 series, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has taken a big decision.

BCCI new order for team India players

BCCI has issued a new order for the players of ODI and T20 teams, under which, all the players of ‘white ball format’ will have to play at least 2-2 matches in an important domestic tournament and this rule will be applicable for both junior and senior players.

According to media reports, the BCCI has taken a major decision and issued an order to all players in India’s ODI and T20 teams. This order requires all players to play at least two matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025-26. This decision was taken to maintain players’ match fitness and strengthen domestic cricket. The Vijay Hazare Trophy is a key domestic List A tournament in Indian cricket, scheduled to begin on December 24, 2025.

This decision was taken especially with senior players in mind who have been unable to play domestic cricket for a long time due to the international schedule. Under this BCCI rule, whenever a centrally contracted player is free from national duty, he will be required to participate in a domestic tournament. This will not only provide players with consistent match practice but will also provide young domestic players with the opportunity to learn from their seniors.

This year’s Vijay Hazare Trophy, a List A tournament scheduled to run from December 24, 2025, to January 18, 2026, is expected to feature Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli . Virat has already informed the Delhi Cricket Association of his availability. Reports suggest he will play two matches. Virat played his last match in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 16 years ago, in 2010. Rohit Sharma, on the other hand, will also be playing in this tournament. Rohit last played in the Vijay Hazare Trophy on October 17, 2010.
