Guru Nanak Jayanti is being celebrated across the country today, November 5th. Banks will be closed for a full five days, starting November 6th. According to the RBI list, banks will be closed continuously from November 5th to November 9th. However, not all holidays apply in all states. Banks Closed on November 5th

Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s birth anniversary is being celebrated across the country on November 5th (Wednesday). Bank holidays have been declared in several states, including Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Uttarakhand, and Jammu and Kashmir. However, banks will remain open in several Northeastern states.

Banks Closed on November 6th

Banks will be closed in Bihar and Meghalaya. Meghalaya is celebrating the Nongkrem Dance Festival, and Bihar is conducting assembly elections. Banking services in Bihar will be affected due to the general assembly elections. Banks will remain open in all states except Bihar and Meghalaya.

Banks in Meghalaya will be closed on November 7 due to the Wangala Festival. Banks will remain open as usual in all states except Meghalaya.

Banks Closed on November 8th

Banks in Karnataka will be closed on Kanakadasa Jayanti. Banks will also be closed in all states across the country on the second Saturday of the month.

Banks Closed on November 9th

November 9 falls on a Sunday, so all banks across the country will remain closed.

Bank branches will be closed in various states from November 5 to 9, but customers will still be able to conduct most of their business without interruption. Services such as online and mobile banking, UPI, and ATMs will remain operational. Some functions are only performed at bank branches, such as depositing large sums of money, clearing checks, or issuing demand drafts. These functions will not be available on holidays.
