Mobile number update in Aadhaar will be done without any documents

The facility of biometric fingerprint authentication has made this service fast, secure and completely hassle-free. That is, the phone number in your Aadhaar card can be easily updated through biometric fingerprint. UIDAI, the government agency responsible for generating this Aadhaar card, has generated more than 1.43 billion Aadhaar numbers so far. According to government data, more than 82 million mobile numbers have been updated in Aadhaar since the establishment of IPPB till September 2025.

The biggest advantage of this new service of India Post Payments Bank is that it is available in cities as well as remote villages. This facility is especially beneficial for those whose old mobile number has become inactive or they are no longer using it. If these two incidents happen, naturally Aadhaar card holders will have to update the new number they have in their Aadhaar card. Earlier this process was quite tedious, but now it has become completely digital and easy.

Where and how to update?

If the Aadhaar Seva Kendra in your area is far away, then you can visit your nearest post office. You can also contact your postman or Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) to update your mobile number. They will verify your identity with your fingerprint and update your mobile number right there and then.

If you want to verify your mobile number or email ID registered with Aadhaar, then you can easily check it by visiting the MyAadhaar portal myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/verify-email-mobile.
