8th Pay Commission – Ever since the Central Government constituted the 8th Pay Commission, there has been a lot of excitement on the faces of all employees. Once implemented, pensioners and employees will receive a booster dose, which will prove to be a boon. The Commission will submit its report to the Central Government within 18 months, and its recommendations will be implemented.
On the other hand, rural postal workers are also demanding a salary increase. They argue that they, too, serve responsibly and therefore deserve the benefits of the 8th Pay Commission. If rural postal workers are included in the new Pay Commission, it will prove to be a booster dose for the employees.
Demand for inclusion of GDS employees is growing rapidly
Demand for inclusion of GDS employees in the 8th Pay Commission is growing rapidly. Meanwhile, MP Ambika Laxminarayan Valmiki has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi demanding that approximately 2.75 lakh rural postal workers be included in this Pay Commission and receive benefits.
He said that postmen in rural areas perform their duties like their urban counterparts. A committee is formed every year, and as a result, they are denied the benefits of allowances and salary increases provided by the Commission.
Meanwhile, rural postmen are not considered central government employees, an,d therefore, do not fall under the 7th Pay Commission (7th CPC). They operate small post offices in villages and handle mail distribution, money orders, banking, Aadhaar services, and government schemes.
Know when the report will be submitted.d
For information, the 8th Pay Commission has begun preparing its papers and report. As per the schedule, the Commission is expected to submit its recommendations by April 2027.
If, for some reason, the report is prepared early, the government may consider it earlier. The government will then review and approve the recommendations, and the new salary structure will be implemented. This move is expected to result in a significant salary increase for employees and pensioners.
