Vietnamese carmaker Vinfast is ready to enter the Indian market with a strong move. The company will launch two new electric SUVs next month, aiming directly at Tata and Mahindra models already in the segment. With bookings already open, these cars are attracting attention for their design, features, and India-based manufacturing.

Launch Date and Booking

Vinfast will launch its first two electric cars in India on September 6, 2025. The models are named VF6 and VF7. Both cars are SUVs and will compete with Tata Motors and Mahindra EVs. Bookings are already open, and customers can reserve the vehicle with a token amount of ₹21,000. The company is producing these cars in Tamil Nadu, where its local plant has already prepared the first VF7 model earlier this month.

Vinfast VF6

The VF6 comes with a 59.6kWh battery pack and delivers 204bhp power with a front-wheel-drive setup. Its claimed driving range is 480km on a single charge. The VF6 will be offered in two trims named Earth and Wind. Buyers will have six colour options to choose from, including Jet Black, Urban Mint, Desert Silver, Zenith Grey, Infinity Blank, and Crimson Red. Inside, the Earth variant gets an all-black interior theme, while the Wind variant features a dual-tone Mocha Brown and Black layout.

Vinfast VF7

The VF7 is the bigger SUV among the two. It will be offered in three trims – Earth, Wind, and Sky. Interior options will be similar to the VF6, with black and dual-tone themes. Powering the VF7 is a 70.8kWh battery pack, available with both single and dual motor setups. The range is claimed at 496km per charge, while the dual motor AWD model produces 354PS and can accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in just 5.8 seconds.

Features and Safety

Both VF6 and VF7 are loaded with premium features. These include a 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, electrically adjustable driver seat, ventilated seats, dual-zone climate control, head-up display, and a panoramic glass roof. On the safety side, both SUVs come with blind spot monitoring, 8 airbags, and Level 2 ADAS features, which make them strong contenders in the segment.

Made in India Manufacturing

A key highlight is that Vinfast will build both SUVs in its Tamil Nadu facility. This gives the brand a local advantage, reducing costs and ensuring faster delivery for Indian buyers. By producing cars in India, Vinfast shows commitment to the market while taking on established rivals directly.
