Upcoming MPVs in India 2026-27 – The MPV segment in India is no longer limited to just taxis or large families. This segment is about to enter a new phase in the coming years, where technology, electric power and premium feel will be equally important with space. Between 2026 and 2027 many large companies are preparing to launch their new MPVs. From Maruti Suzuki to Hyundai, Nissan and Citroën, all brands are looking very serious about this segment.
Maruti Suzuki Compact MPV
Maruti Suzuki is working on a new compact MPV, which will be positioned below the Ertiga. All this will come in the 4-meter category and is expected to launch around 2027-28. In terms of design and space it may be inspired by the JDM-spec Spacia, where the focus is on getting more and more space inside the small body.

The biggest feature of this MPV may be its publicly developed Strong-Hybrid Petrol powertrain. Its purpose is clear better mileage, lower running cost and perfect family car for the city.

Hyundai Premium MPV
Hyundai is also preparing to bring a premium product to the MPV segment. It is believed to be inspired by the globally sold Hyundai Stargazer. In both design and positioning, this MPV will come with slightly different thinking.

While most MPVs are viewed only from a practical point of view, Hyundai can offer it as a stylish and feature-loaded family car. It will be interesting to see how Hyundai establishes itself in this limited but strong segment.
Maruti Suzuki YMC
Another big bet from Maruti Suzuki is its electric three-row MPV project, internally named YMC. It will be placed above e Vitara in the MPV brand’s EV lineup. It is likely to arrive in late 2026 or early 2027.

YMC will share battery packs, motors and many electrical components with Maruti’s midsize electric SUV. Not only this, a derivatives MPV of Toyota may also be seen on this platform in the future. This MPV will be for those who want future-ready technology with a family car.

Citroën e-Spacetourer
Citroën is exploring possibilities to bring its electric MPV Citroen e-Spacetourer to India. In the global market it is available in many variants such as MPV standard and extended wheelbase, which meet different needs.

This MPV offers a large battery of 75 kWh, which once charged claims to give a range of about 348 kilometers. If it comes to India, Premium Electric can become a completely new option in the MPV segment.
Nissan Gravite
Nissan is set to launch its new three-row MPV Nissan Gravite in January 2026. Its delivery is expected to begin in March 2026. It will be based on a platform with MPV Renault Triber, keeping costs under control.

Gravite is likely to have a 1.0-liter petrol engine, which can come in both naturally aspirated and turbo options. Nissan can keep its price quite competitive due to much localization.
