New Toyota SUV
Toyota kept silence this year over the launch of new models. But now the news is confirmed that the company will launch its new Urban Cruiser Electric SUV in January 2026. It will be offered as a rebadged version of Maruti’s e Vitara. The SUV was first showcased at the Bharat Mobility Auto Show, and since then fans have been waiting for its launch.

Design
Even though the Urban Cruiser EV is a rebadged version of the Maruti e Vitara, its design will be entirely in accordance with Toyota’s DNA. Pixel-styled LED DRLs at the front, separate LED headlamp setup, and sporty bumpers give it a premium look. It also has new alloy wheels and LED taillamps, making it visually different from e Vitara.
Interior
The Urban Cruiser EV in the interior gives the same premium feel as its Maruti version. Its cabin comes with twin floating display setup, one infotainment system and another digital instrument cluster. In addition, it features a new two spoke flat bottom steering wheel, on which Toyota’s logo makes it special.
Features
Talking about features, this SUV is very advanced. It will include features such as Level 2 ADAS system, JBL premium sound system, wireless charging, sunroof, ventilated front seats, sliding and reclining rear seats, and power adjustable driver seats. Even in terms of safety, this SUV is not behind, it will get 6 airbags standard, while the top variant can offer up to 7 airbags.

Powertrain
Now talk about performance, Toyota Urban Cruiser EV will have the same battery options as the Maruti e Vitara, two variants of 49 kWh and 61 kWh. Toyota has not yet confirmed its range details, but it is being said that the 61 kWh battery version will give a range of over 500 km.
Price
Now if you talk about the price, the Toyota Urban Cruiser EV price is expected to be between ₹17 lakhs to ₹24 lakhs (on-road, Mumbai). This price range makes it a powerful challenger in front of popular SUVs like the Hyundai Creta EV. Toyota is going to offer something at this price point that will give users a combination of both luxury and technology.
