The last month of the year 2025 is going to be very special for India’s SUV lovers. Not one but four new SUVs are going to be launched in the country in December. These include some much awaited models, such as the new generation of Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, and Tata Harrier and Safari Petrol versions.

You might know that December is usually a quiet month for launch in the automobile industry, but this time the atmosphere is going to be hot. So let’s know, which SUVs are ready to rock Indian roads.

New-Gen Kia Seltos

Kia is going to present the next generation version of its most popular SUV Seltos on 10 December 2025. It will debut in Korea and will also be launched in India shortly thereafter, it is expected to be launched in the Indian market in early 2026.

The design of the new Seltos 2026 will be bold and muscular more than ever. Its look is now inspired by Kia Telluride, the company’s premium SUV. It features features such as wide grills, square-shaped headlamps, and orange DRLs making the SUV extremely stylish.

Talking about the engine, the same engine options will continue in the new Seltos — 1.5L NA petrol, 1.5L turbo petrol, and 1.5L turbo diesel, which will come with both manual and automatic gearbox options.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

After a long wait, Maruti Suzuki e Vitara, the company’s first fully electric SUV, is scheduled to launch on 2 December 2025. This SUV will give a tough competition to cars like Hyundai Creta EV, Mahindra BE 6, and Tata Curvv EV.

e Vitara will be offered with two battery options 49 kWh and 61 kWh. According to the company, this SUV will be able to deliver certified range of up to 500 km at full charge once.

Talking about the price, it is expected that Maruti e Vitara will cost between ₹18 lakh to ₹24 lakh. This SUV can prove to be one of the most economical electric family cars in the Indian market.

Tata Harrier and Safari Petrol

Tata Motors is going to have a big bang in December. The company will launch its two major SUVs – Harrier and Safari’s petrol version on 9 December 2025. So far both these SUVs were only available in the diesel engine, but now the company has completed preparations to introduce them with its new 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder, direct-injection turbo-petrol engine.

This is the same engine that was first introduced in Auto Expo 2023. This motor will generate 170hp power and 280Nm torque. Its gearbox options may include 6-speed manual, 6-speed torque converter automatic, and possibly 7-speed DCT.

Tata Harrier Petrol will now compete with SUVs such as Jeep Compass and MG Hector, while Safari Petrol will compete with Mahindra XUV700 and Hyundai Alcazar. Both of these SUVs already offer premium features such as panoramic sunroof, ADAS features, and connected car technology, which will also be included in the petrol version.
