Launch
Tata Motors has confirmed that Tata Sierra prices will be officially announced on 25 November 2025. It will be launched on the market as a lifestyle SUV, and will be positioned between Tata Curvv and Tata Harrier. It will clash directly with the Sierra about 4.3–4.4 meters long from popular SUVs such as Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Victors/Grand Vitara, Renault Duster and Honda Elevate. Tata has equipped this new Sierra with premium features and strong materials to make it standout product in its category.
Engine
The biggest feature of the new Tata Sierra is its completely new 1.5L Direct-Injection Turbo Petrol Engine, which was featured in the 2023 Auto Expo. This 4-cylinder turbo unit produces a massive power of 170hp and a torque of 280Nm, making it the most powerful SUV in its class.
Creta and Seltos get 160hp turbo engine, while Taigun and Kushaq’s popular 1.5 TSI engine also gives 150hp. Even the upcoming Renault Duster is limited to 156hp. Sierra leaves all of these comfortably behind. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be available with this engine, allowing users to choose variant according to their driving preference.
Additional Petrol Option
Tata Sierra will not only provide performance-focused turbo engine, but also a refined and practical 1.5L Naturally-Aspirated Petrol Engine. This 4-cylinder NA engine will cause torque deliver of approximately 120hp and 140Nm, which is specifically designed for lower variants.
This engine is being described as an ideal for everyday smooth driving and better fuel efficiency seekers. Sierra will compete directly with this engine from models such as Creta 1.5L, Seltos 1.5L, Grand Vitara and Honda Elevate.
Diesel Engine Option
Sierra’s diesel engine will be the same as the one being used in Nexon and Curvv, a reliable 1.5L, 4-cylinder diesel unit that gives 116bhp and 260Nm strength. This is great news for diesel buyers, as the diesel options in segment are significantly less left. Gearbox options may include 6-speed manual and dual-clutch automatic (DCA), which will further improve driving.

Price
Tata Motors wants to position the pricing of the new Sierra smartly so that it emerges as a value-for-money SUV in the segment. The expected price of the SUV is assumed to be between ₹11 lakhs to ₹20 lakhs (ex-showroom). If Tata maintains this price racket, Sierra Creta, Seltos, Grand Vitara can play a big role in hitting the established rivals.
