Suzuki has officially announced that booking of Jimny Nomade in Japan will resume from 30 January 2026. When this SUV was launched in January 2025, more than 50,000 bookings were made in just four days. This heavy demand caused the company to stop bookings, as the waiting period reached the full four years.
However now that bookings are going to reopen, this is great news for Japanese customers. It is clear that Suzuki is paying full attention to production to further increase the popularity of this model.

Let me tell you, according to data from the Japan Automobile Importers Association, 2,524 units were sent to Japan in April 2025, 1,779 units in May, and 2,787 units in June to Jimny Nomade. The number stood at 1,622 units in July, while only 72 units could be exported due to stop shipment in August.
When shipment resumed in September, 3,999 units were sent to Japan. It is clear from these growing figures that Suzuki is now focusing on reducing the wait of customers by increasing production capacity.
Jimny Nomade Engine
If you talk about its engine, the Jimmy Nomade has a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine, which gives 102PS power and 130Nm of torque. This engine comes with two transmission options 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic.
For the same off-road performance, it has the company’s Suzuki AllGrip Pro 4WD system, which includes part-time 4WD and low-range transfer gear. A ground clearance of 210mm, an approach angle of 36°, a departure angle of 46 °, and a ramp breakover angle of 24 ° make it a true off-road machine.

Jimny Nomade being sold in Japan has recently been updated with the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) feature. It also includes features such as 6 airbags, Hill Descent Control, Hill Hold Assist, ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and Brake Limited Slip Differential (LSD). The same is its ladder-frame chassis and 3-Link rigid suspension with coil springs making it a strong and reliable SUV no matter how hard the path.
