You may remember that when Renault Duster was first launched in India in 2012, it changed the face of the SUV market. At that time it was the first modern monocoque SUV to come in the 4.2 m to 4.4 m segment, giving people a new SUV experience. And today this segment has become the most popular in India, where about 25% of passenger vehicle sales are from these SUVs.

Launch Date and New Updates
Let me tell you that Renault India has made it clear that the new Duster will be unveiled on 26 January 2026. That is, on the Republic Day of the country, the company will introduce this SUV in the market of India.
Duster had been seen during testing for quite some time, and now finally its launch schedule has been set. The company’s SUV will be Renault’s flagship product in India, which will come with the brand’s new design language and engine technology.
Duster and Nissan Tekton
After the launch of Duster, Nissan will also offer its badge-engineered version ie Nissan Tekton. That is, two different SUVs built on the same platform will give new options to Indian customers.
While Renault Duster will become the 13th entry in the 4.2 to 4.4 meter SUV segment, Nissan Tekton will add the 14th name to this list. Not only this, 7-seater versions of both SUVs are also in the works, which will further increase their market reach.

Renault Duster – Engine
Talking about its engine, the company plans to offer several engine options in the new Duster 2026. This will include Turbo Petrol, Naturally Aspirated Petrol, and Hybrid Engine variants.
It is expected that its top variants will also feature the AWD (All-Wheel Drive) system, which will make it more special for adventure lovers. With this balance of power, mileage and off-roading capability, Duster is set to return to its old stage again.
