Design

The new Renault Duster retains its iconic boxy and butch silhouette, but now features several modern design touches. Up front, you’ll find a bold-looking front grille with ‘RENAULT’ written on it, along with LED headlights with Y-shaped DRLs. The bumpers have a chunky look, and the massive silver skid plate adds to its aesthetic appeal. This car is like an old friend getting a facelift—the identity remains the same, but the look is completely new and fresh.

Profile and Side View

Large wheel arches, chunky body cladding, and flared haunches enhance the car’s muscular appearance. Interestingly, the rear door handles are mounted on the C-pillar, giving it a three-door-like appearance. The Duster rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, giving it a sleek and purposeful stance. At the rear, funky LED tail lamps and a chunky silver skid plate complete its design.

Interior

Entering the cabin, you’re greeted by a purposeful-looking dashboard that feels both modern and rugged. Like all modern cars, you’ll find a floating touchscreen infotainment system and a digital driver’s display. One good thing is that Renault has provided physical buttons for climate control, which are easy to use while driving. The interior is like a smartphone – packed with technology but easy to use.

Features

The Duster is returning to a segment where features are given top priority. Renault has packed it well in terms of basic features. It will include a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver’s display, automatic climate control, a wireless phone charger, and keyless entry with push-button start. However, the India-spec Duster could be equipped with features like a powered driver’s seat, a panoramic sunroof, a branded sound system, and ambient lighting.

Safety

The new Duster makes no compromises when it comes to safety. It will feature features like multiple airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and Level-2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System). This car ensures the safety of you and your family.

Engine Options

Engine options for the India-spec Duster have not yet been officially confirmed, but the international model is available with three engine options. These include a 1.0-liter LPG engine (100 PS), a 1.3-liter turbo-petrol mild-hybrid (130 PS), and a 1.6-liter strong hybrid (145 PS). Transmission options include a 6-speed manual and e-CVT. This car offers both front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options.

Pricing and Rivals

We expect the new Renault Duster to launch with a starting price of around ₹10 lakh (ex-showroom). It will compete with rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and Honda Elevate. Given its features and iconic brand value, this car could prove to be a great value-for-money offering at this price point.
