The same split headlamp setup is seen in the test mule, in which the special H-signature of the DRLs is retained. The design of the taillamps at the rear is also the same as before, which mirrors the H-patterns of the front DRLs.

Talking about the interior, according to reports, the cabin in the new Hyundai Exter Facelift can be fully updated. It will see a new dashboard layout, new steering wheel and more modern design than before.

The largest highlight can be a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch large touchscreen infotainment system. Engine

Hyundai does not look in the mood to make any major changes on the mechanical front. The new Exter is expected to offer the same 1.2-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated engine, which will be available in both petrol and CNG options.

In the petrol version, this engine gives power of 82 hp and torque of 113.8 Nm, while the output in CNG version will be 68 hp and 95.2 Nm. The 5-speed manual as a transmission will continue as before, but it is expected that Hyundai can offer a 5-speed AMT option in the CNG variant as well.

Price

New Hyundai Exter is expected to start at around ₹5.8 lakh (ex-showroom). In this price range, it will compete directly with not only the Tata Punch Facelift but also the Maruti Ignis. Improved technology and Hyundai’s trusted brand image could make it a strong contender once again.
