Suspension
The biggest difference between the KTM 390 Adventure R and the standard model is seen in suspension. The R variant offers high-spec WP Apex suspension, with 230mm travel on both front and back. At the same time, the standard model offers 200mm on the front and 205mm on the rear.
This means that Adventure R gets more comfortable on bad roads, big stones and bumpy trails. Better damping and longer suspension travel makes it much closer to hardcore off-roading. Overall, this setup gives a feel like Global Enduro R, which is no less than a bonus for off-road amateurs.
Wheels and Tyres
Standard KTM 390 Adventure While tubeless alloy wheels come with, the Adventure R has tube-type spoke wheels. At first sight it may seem downgraded, but in the world of off-roading this is what is considered a real upgrade.
The Adventure R features a 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel, which is considered particularly superior to trail and loose surfaces. Talking about design, both bikes look quite similar, but some special details give different identity to Adventure R. It features an orange finish trellis frame, which gives it a more race-bread look.
In addition, the R variant gets different graphics, distinguishing it from the standard model. Bodywork, fuel tanks and overall design language are kept the same, so that the identity of the Adventure Series remains. The difference is kept as much as is necessary, neither more nor less.

Price
KTM 390 Adventure R costs ₹3.78 lakhs, which is ₹19,000 less than the standard model. More features usually mean more price, but the story here is the opposite.
The major reason for this is tube-type spoke wheels, which are cheaper than tubeless setups. KTM has made this savings directly to the customer. The result is that Adventure R lightens on the pocket despite much off-road hardware.

Booking
KTM has started bookings of 390 Adventure R. It can be booked from dealerships across the country at a refundable token amount of ₹2,000.
This bike is especially for riders who want to enjoy long trail rides, mountain paths and real adventure. If most of the riding is on the road, the standard model will look more practical.
