Jawa 42: Classic Legends has declared a significant price cut on its best-selling Jawa and Yezdi bikes in India. The majority of the models are now listed below ₹2 lakh ex-showroom. This overnight price change has made young riders thrilled as they always wanted to own a trendy retro bike at an affordable cost.

Why Prices Went Down

The price reduction follows the enactment of GST 2.0 reform. Under the reform, the tax rate of motorcycles with engines not exceeding 350cc has been lowered from 28 percent to 18 percent. Jawa and Yezdi bikes qualify for this, as they are powered by 293cc and 334cc liquid-cooled Alpha2 engines. The tax reduction directly reduced their showroom price, making these motorcycles much more affordable.

Affordable Popular Jawa and Yezdi Models

The models such as Jawa 42, Jawa 42 FJ, Jawa 42 Bobber, and Jawa 350 have all been priced differently. Along with them, Yezdi Adventure, Yezdi Roadster, and Yezdi Scrambler are also available at lower price. Starting below ₹2 lakh, these motorcycles will appeal to a large number of new buyers who previously found them too pricey.

Company’s Take on the Reform

It has brought back the segment, according to Anupam Thareja, co-founder of Classic Legends. He pointed out that many years ago, Jawa and Yezdi bikes went off the shelves with the ban on two-stroke engines. Now, the revised GST scheme has provided them an opportunity to make a comeback. He is of the opinion that due to the reduced prices, more people will start buying performance-classic bikes.

Maintenance Costs Also Reduced

Classic Legends has also assured that buyers will enjoy GST reduction on after-sales parts. This implies not just the upfront acquisition but also the extended upkeep of Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles will be less costly. For new buyers, this is an additional benefit and lowers total ownership expense.

Demand to Grow in Festival Season

The timing of the price reduction is likely to increase sales aggressively during the coming festive season. A combination of old-school design and new-age technology, Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles are now a viable choice for riders who need style and performance without burning a hole in their pockets.
