Isuzu V-Cross vs Toyota Hilux 2026 – Which Pickup Truck Is More Powerful and Value for Money

Indian roads are no longer dominated by SUVs, the pickup truck segment is also increasingly under discussion. Especially when it comes to lifestyle pickup trucks, two names immediately come up Isuzu V-Cross and Toyota Hilux. Recently Isuzu has launched the MY26 V-Cross with features such as new design updates and 360-degree cameras. Now the competition has become even more interesting.

Dimensions

If you talk about size, both trucks seem almost equal, but there is a slight difference in figures. The Isuzu V-Cross has a length of 5,295mm while the Toyota Hilux is 30mm longer with 5,325mm. The two are almost identical in width, but the V-Cross is 40mm higher.

The wheelbase of the V-Cross is 3,095mm, 10mm longer than the Hilux. That is, Isuzu is slightly ahead in terms of height and wheelbase, but Hilux takes the lead in total length. The presence of both on the roads does not seem to be less than an SUV.

Engine and performance

The Isuzu V-Cross gets a 1.9-liter diesel engine, which gives 163hp power and 360Nm torque. At the same time Toyota Hilux comes with a 2.8-liter diesel engine, which generates 204hp and 500Nm of torque.

That is, Hilux has 41hp more power and 140Nm more torque. Both offer a choice of 6-speed manual and 6-speed automatic gearboxes, and both come with 4WD systems.

Exterior Design

Talking about design, both look muscular and bold. But there is a difference in lighting. Toyota Hilux comes with fully LED lighting, including LED fog lamps and tail lamps. Isuzu V-Cross has headlamp LEDs, but fog lamps and tail lamps are halogen.

The rear fog lamp is also found in Hilux, which is not in V-Cross. On the other hand, roof rails and side steps are standard in V-Cross, while in Hilux these are available as accessories.

Interior and Features

It feels the difference as soon as it sits inside. The Isuzu V-Cross gets a 10.3-inch touchscreen, while the Hilux has an 8-inch screen. Both have wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay available.

Talking of audio systems, V-Cross has 8 speakers, while Hilux has 6 speakers. But Hilux offers dual-zone climate control, which is not in V-Cross.

The driver seat gives the Hilux 8-way powered seat in adjustment, while the V-Cross has a 6-way powered seat. Hilux also gets a cooled glove box and connected car tech, which is not in V-Cross.

Price

The price difference is quite large. Isuzu V-Cross costs between 25.50 lakhs to 30.28 lakhs (ex-showroom). Toyota Hilux goes from 28.02 lakh to Rs 35.37 lakh.

The base variant has a difference of about 2.52 lakhs, and in the top variants this difference exceeds Rs 5 lakh. That is, Hilux gives more power and brand value but V-Cross proves to be a more economical option.
