Hyundai Aura: Rimac Nevera R has shocked the world by shattering not one or two, but 24 world records within three days. This Croatian electric hypercar has set a new benchmark in the EV class, showing that innovation and sheer speed can go hand in hand. From 0-100 km/h to 0-400-0 km/h, it has set new standards on Germany’s renowned Automotive Testing Papenburg track between July 5 and 8.
Fastest Electric Vehicle in History
Nevera R is officially the fastest production electric vehicle in history, with a top speed of 431 km/h. It goes from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.72 seconds, the quickest ever by an EV. Even more startling, it went from 0-400-0 km/h in 25.79 seconds, 2.04 seconds faster than the Jesko Absolut.
More Than 2000 Horsepower Powertrain
This hypercar is powered by a 120kWh battery pack and produces an awe-inspiring 2,017 horsepower. It accelerates 0 to 1000 meters in a mere 21.6 seconds. That’s something many gas-guzzling hypercars are still not able to match. In comparison to the first Rimac Nevera, which had previously broken 23 records, the Nevera R has now smashed 22 of them.
What Powers This Beast
Both the Nevera and Nevera R utilize the same 120kWh battery, but Nevera R offers 103 more horsepower than the original version. Such a power boost renders it one of the most powerful and sophisticated electric vehicles ever produced.
Where It Still Falls Short
For all its success, Nevera R is not the outright quickest. The Aspark Owl SP600 boasts a fractionally higher top speed of 439 km/h, and of the petrol-powered hypercars, Bugatti Chiron Super Sport is the best with an unparalleled 490 km/h.
Hyundai CEO’s Bold Statement
Nevera R’s performance amazed Rimac CEO Mate Rimac. He claimed that when they first launched the original Nevera, they thought that was it, but Nevera R showed that there’s no end to innovation. Shattering records, he further claimed, is in their DNA.
